ABOUT FOYC
Out of a concern to continue in the fellowship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to have the word preached, taught, and lived uncompromised, the Fountain of Youth Church Bible Way World Wide, Inc. began March of 1960.  The organizational meeting was held at the home of Chairman Deacon King Fountain on Joseph Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  It was conducted by Elder L. J. Clifford, at which time the name of the church was suggested to be the Fountain of Youth Church and was accepted unanimously.  Pastorate of the church was accepted by Minister Franklin D. Fountain.  Deacon King D. Turner, Deacon King D. Fountain, Mother Irene Fountain, Sister Eva B. Turner, Mother Lucy B. Scott, Deacon and Sister Dozier, Sister Crockett, Sister Rice, Sister Harriett Sharpe, Brother Norman Fountain, and Minister Franklin D. Fountain were the founding members.  In November of 1960 the church was officially chartered as a member of the Bible Way World Wide Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc., under the District Leadership of District Elder Burns of Waterbury, Connecticut.  Also under, Bishop L. J. Clifford, Diocesan Bishop of the State of Connecticut and the National Founding Leadership of Presiding Bishop Smallwood E. Williams of Washington, DC, National Headquarters. The church is continuing unto this day by the grace of God, founded and attested historically, experimentally, and doctrinally.

Our first service was held at Spruce Street in a humble store front with a potbelly stove in the center of the room that provided heat in the winter, as the worshippers gathered to have Sunday evening service. The late Reverend Dennis Broadnax, and the West End Church congregation, being so generous, permitted us to hold our services at that time until we were able to acquire an assembly dwelling.  The Lord blessed through steadfastness, Godly living, praying and fasting.  Souls were baptized in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave utterance.

In the Spring of 1961, we moved to Pine Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut where the Lord continued to bless, with many young people to come and learn about the Lord through Sunday School, our first choir was also organized. Brother William Yarbrough was very instrumental in gathering and transporting children from the neighborhood to Sunday School and church. He later became one of the Sunday School Superintendent's of Fountain of Youth Bible Way World Wide Church. Prayer was a dominating force in the unity and strength of God's people. The uncompromised word of God that was preached, was the enforcer to Godly living. The assembly over the years witnessed many to come, many heard the Word of God, many obeyed God's Word, many received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit; some are teachers and ministers of the assembly to this date, as the Lord's truth continues to permeate lives.
Past edifices date back to Spruce Street, Hallett Street in 1965 until the Lord blessed us with our present edifice at 324 Madison Avenue, in 1972 under the leadership of our founding Pastor, the late Bishop Franklin David Fountain.  "The people of God had a mind to work and they worked". Many individual personal sacrifices were made by the members of the church as the Lord touched their hearts.  The present House of Prayer was purchased, to the honor and glory of God.  February 8, 1974, we were faced with the challenge of rebuilding after an arsonist started a fire in the edifice causing it to be engulfed with flames overwhelmingly.  We were thankful that renovation began rather quickly.  In the interim worship services were held in the home of Pastor, Elder Franklin D. Fountain, 2081 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut for approximately two months.  At which time the City of Bridgeport allowed us to occupy the gym in Columbus School until the completion of the renovations.

May 1981, we were blessed to burn our mortgage ahead of schedule. July 1982, Elder Franklin D. Fountain was consecrated to the Bishopric of the New England Diocese, in Washington, DC, succeeding the late Bishop Leroy J. Clifford. March 1998, under the wise leadership of Bishop Franklin D. Fountain we purchased the adjacent property to the church, totally renovated the parsonage and the church office. April 2004, our Pastor, the late Bishop Franklin D. Fountain, due to terminal illness, passed the Pastoral mantle to his son, Elder Christopher D. Fountain and he was consecrated and installed Pastor of Fountain of Youth Church November 13, 2004. Later, after taking the ministry as far as the Lord would allow, Pastor Christopher D. Fountain passed the mantle to his eldest brother, Apostle Franklin L. Fountain. November 16, 2013, Apostle Franklin L. Fountain was installed Pastor of Fountain of Youth Church. By the Grace of God we the Fountain of Youth Church, Inc., continues unto this day, and God is adding to the church such as should be saved.  Later in the year 2014, the Fountain of Youth Church, Incorporated under went a glorious name change to Fountain Of Youth Cathedral, Incorporated.  The church that is Glowing, Going, and Growing in the Lord!

"To God be the GLORY, for the things He has DONE"!
